Women’s Bar Foundation’s Whoop It Up For Women! Comedy Night Features Comic Kelly MacFarland!
BOSTON – The Women’s Bar Foundation of Massachusetts (WBF) invites you to join them for a hilarious evening of entertainment to raise money for an important cause with comic Kelly MacFarland at Whoop It Up For Women! Comedy Night on Thursday, May 16 at 6:00PM at the Boston Harbor Hotel in Boston.
Comedy Night is an evening of laughter and fun, that raises funds and brings attention to the WBF’s pro bono projects: the Family Law Project for Domestic Abuse Survivors; the Elder Law Project; and the Women’s Prison and Re-Entry Project. These projects provide low-income individuals, primarily women, and their families with desperately needed legal assistance in matters related to domestic violence, homelessness, end-of-life decision making, and other critical legal issues.
The effervescent Kim Miles of Miles in Heels will emcee WBF Whoop It Up For Women! Comedy Night, featuring the fabulous stand-up comedian Kelly MacFarland, who has appeared on Comedy Central, The View and the Today Show. Kelly was part of the Top 100 Comedians on NBC’s Last Comic Standing Season 9, and won first place in the professional category of the 2016 Ladies of Laughter competition.
The event also will recognize attorneys who, through their volunteer service to the WBF, have improved the lives of low-income individuals and their families. Jessica M. Dubin of Lee & Rivers LLP and Wyley S. Proctor of McCarter & English LLP will be recognized for their dedication to representing low-income survivors of domestic violence through the WBF’s Family Law Project for Domestic Abuse Survivors.
An exciting live auction and raffle provide an opportunity for attendees to support the WBF. Tickets are $150 and can be purchased online (www.womensbar.org (select “WBF”)) or by calling 617-973-6666. Ticket price includes an open bar, delicious food, a live auction, a raffle and lots of laughs.
Established as a 501(c)(3) organization in 1993 by the Women’s Bar Association, the mission of the Women’s Bar Foundation (WBF) is to promote social and economic equity for low-income women and their children by providing an array of pro bono legal services.
