Legislative Agenda

The WBA’s Legislative Policy Committee (LPC) is the legislative arm of the Women’s Bar Association.  Each year, the LPC makes a recommendation to the WBA's Board of Directors on which bills should be given "priority" status. The dedicated members of the LPC track the development of priority legislation, identify new issues that require the WBA’s support (or opposition), and share information about the legislative process with WBA members across the state.  For priority bills, the WBA testifies at the hearings scheduled by the Legislature and takes additional action as needed during the legislative session.  For the other "bills we are monitoring", the WBA submits letters to the relevant legislative committees.  Each February, the WBA hosts a breakfast at the Massachusetts State House to present its legislative agenda to legislators.

Please click on the drop down menu for more information on the WBA's current legislative priorities, areas of concern, legislative achievements, testimony and letters.
