A WBF Publication
The Women’s Bar Association (WBA) and Women’s Bar Foundation (WBF) of Massachusetts are seeking an Executive Director to oversee all management, administrative, financial, fundraising and programmatic aspects of both organizations. The WBA is a vibrant statewide membership organization committed to achieving full and equal participation of women in the legal profession and in a just society. The WBF is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to the provision of pro bono legal services by volunteer attorneys to low-income individuals, primarily women and children.
On any given day in Massachusetts nearly 2,000 people seek help from domestic violence assistance programs. Nearly half of those people need legal assistance. With your generous support, the WBF staff and volunteer attorneys work tirelessly to meet this need.
The SJC’s Standing Committee on Pro Bono Legal Services will recognize Chris Butler with its 2017 Adams Award at a ceremony on October 18 at 4:00 p.m. at the John Adams Courthouse. Chris is being honored for her four decades of pro bono work on behalf of survivors of domestic violence, not only representing them, but developing comprehensive strategies to protect them, advocating for increased legislative safeguards, and training attorneys, judges, clerks, probation officers, and other advocates.
