Whoop It Up For Women! Comedy Night is a virtual evening that raises money and brings attention to the WBF’s important work. The WBF provides free legal assistance to low-income survivors of domestic abuse facing critical issues, low-income elders needing planning documents, such as wills and health care proxies, and to elderly incarcerated women regarding clemency.
The dynamic Kim Miles of Miles in Heels Productions will emcee WBF Whoop It Up For Women! Comedy Night featuring the amazing Fran Drescher, an entertainment icon most famous for her quick wit and quirky laugh in her roles in The Nanny, This is Spinal Tap, and Saturday Night Fever. In addition to her work as an actor, director and philanthropist, Fran is a champion for women’s rights and causes. Bid on fabulous packages during our live auction, then join Michelle Peirce, WBF President as she leads an entertaining and engaging chat with Fran – with time for audience Q&A! This fabulous evening is brought to you by Hinckley Allen, Takeda and Wolf Greenfield.
The evening will recognize outstanding WBF volunteer attorneys who have improved the lives of low-income individuals and their families with the Nery Arrano Pro Bono Award. Ginger Gibbs of Burns & Jain PC and the law firm Skadden will be recognized for their dedication and commitment to representing low-income survivors of domestic violence through the WBF’s Family Law Project for Domestic Abuse Survivors, despite the many challenges posed by COVID-19. Current Skadden attorneys include Amy-Lee Goodman, Emily Jennings, Benjamin Niehaus, Elizabeth Perkins, Vasundhara Prasad, and Caroline Trusty.
The WBF is excited to offer a special private post-event party hosted by emcee, Kim Miles, where you can chat directly with Fran Drescher in this intimate virtual setting!
