The WBA is pleased to announce that applications are now available to run for the 2025-2026 WBA Board of Directors!
- The application deadline is Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at 5:00PM.
- Candidate applications will be posted on the WBA website once online voting begins.
Elections will take place online prior to and on the date of the Annual Meeting, Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at 5:30PM at Suffolk University Law School, 120 Tremont Street in Boston.
- Each board candidate may submit a 1-2 minute video about their candidacy, which will be available on the WBA website, along with the candidate's application during online voting.
All votes will be cast electronically.

REQUIREMENTS
Commitment & Time:
Board members are expected to have a demonstrated interest in the WBA’s mission and the commitment and ability to work in pursuit of the mission.
Board Members are expected to:
- Prepare for and attend all board meetings;
- Maintain their membership throughout their entire term;
- Co-chair or act as liaison to one of the WBA’s committees, or otherwise be actively involved with the work of the WBA such as by organizing a program, chairing an event, or writing an amicus brief, etc.;
- Be willing to travel to board meetings, events, regional receptions, and programs outside of the Greater Boston area, as well as a mandatory day-long board retreat in April 2025;
- Unless prohibited by law, or an employer’s documented policy, engage in ongoing fundraising efforts by securing Gala sponsorships/advertising and seeking other revenue sources as assigned (examples include seeking corporate partners, selling advertising, and planning programs that generate revenue). Board members are supported by the Gala Committee in their Gala fundraising efforts, and are typically able to raise between $5,000-8,000. To the extent a board member is prohibited from fundraising, that board member should work with the President to identify other areas of specific contributions to the growth of the organization, including with respect to enhanced membership recruitment activities;
- Contribute to expanding the WBA membership by securing new members. Board members are encouraged to bring in 10 new members a year, whether through individual memberships or firm memberships; and
- Attend all major WBA events including the Gala (October 22, 2025), the Annual Meeting/Reception, the Pioneering Women of Color Event.
You should expect the minimum time involved, including preparation time, to average 5-6 hours per month for one to two years depending on the length of your term. The WBA is a non-partisan, not-for-profit 501(c) (6) organization that values collegiality and respect.
