The keynote speaker is Joan Meier, a distinguished professor of law at George Washington University School of Law. Professor Meier is the author of a 2019 groundbreaking study on domestic abuse in family court,  Child Custody Outcomes in Cases Involving Parental Alienation and Abuse Allegations.

Meier has worked in the area of domestic abuse for decades and has trained a multitude of judges, lawyers, experts and advocates on best practices in domestic abuse cases.
 
After her presentation there will be a panel discussion regarding the impact of domestic abuse allegations in contested custody cases and parenting plans.
