Nutter

Nutter is a Boston-based law firm that provides legal counsel to industry-leading companies, entrepreneurs, institutions, foundations, and families, across the country and around the world. The firm’s corporate, intellectual property, litigation, real estate and land use, labor and employment, tax, and trusts and estates practices are national in scope. The firm was co-founded in 1879 by former U.S. Supreme Court Justice Louis D. Brandeis, before his appointment to the Court. “Nutter is committed to continuing to strengthen the inclusive and supportive environment we provide for women lawyers. Offering membership in, and opportunities to engage with, the Women’s Bar Association is an important part of how we accomplish this goal.” – Liam O’Connell and Michael Scott, Co-Managing Partners.

In October 2022, Nutter achieved Mansfield 5.0 Certification after completing the rigorous year-long certification program, which is aimed at promoting, supporting, and sustaining diversity in law firm leadership. This is the third consecutive year that Nutter has achieved Mansfield Certification.

Nutter is a member of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD), an organization of more than 350 corporate chief legal officers and law firm managing partners who have pledged themselves to creating a truly diverse U.S. legal profession. The LCLD sponsors a variety of action programs (including mentoring, pipeline, and leadership development programs) to help a more diverse generation of attorneys ascend to positions of leadership. This summer, Nutter will participate in the LCLD 1L Scholar Program, through which 1L summer associates gain exposure to attorneys from LCLD member organizations and participate in a variety of career development-focused programs. Three Nutter attorneys were also recently selected to be members of the 2022 LCLD Fellows and Pathfinders programs, leadership training programs for high-potential diverse attorneys at different stages of their careers.

Nutter is pleased to offer panel discussions, trainings, and events focused on the experience and development of our women attorneys. This Women in Law series provides opportunities for women attorneys to continue to connect with each other, nurture their skills, and grow within the Firm.
