– Jennifer Ioli Connelly, Co-Chair of Sherin and Lodgen’s Women’s Initiative
Sherin and Lodgen’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) Initiative is driven by three pillars – Engage & Support, Listen & Learn, and Recruit & Retain. We focus our efforts on a broad definition of diversity, encompassing race, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, and religion, as well as diverse education, work, and life experiences. The firm seeks to ensure diversity, equity, and inclusion are ingrained in our day-to-day approach to business – for the success and growth of the firm’s attorneys and staff and, ultimately, the quality of service to clients.
An extension of our DE&I Initiative is our S&L Pride Affinity Group, which offers educational events, social programs, and community outreach focused on lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer inclusion efforts.
Sherin and Lodgen has long been committed to the advancement and success of women attorneys and professionals, both within and outside the firm. The firm organizes and advances its efforts in this regard through our Women’s Initiative, which provides an internal network of support that fosters growth and achievement, while connecting with and learning from outside organizations that directly support women and women’s causes.
The Women’s Initiative, which today is co-chaired by Sherin Partner Jennifer Ioli Connelly and Partner Nancy S. Shilepsky, provides a wide range of support and programming, from recruiting, retention, and elevation to professional and business development, and civic advocacy activities.
